S J Electronics (Ningbo Shijie Electronics Co Ltd) was founded in 2019 in Ningbo, China, and makes advanced chip-packaging materials such as indium-based thermal interface materials and heat spreaders. Its Penang subsidiary, PEN S J Electronics, set up in 2023, is leasing land in Batu Kawan Industrial Park 3 for a plant of more than US$70 million.

PEN S J Electronics, the Penang arm of China’s S J Electronics, is leasing about 8.5 acres in BKIP3 from PDC for a US$70m chip-materials plant with 1,000 jobs.
