BYD Co Ltd is the Shenzhen-based electric-vehicle and battery maker and Malaysia’s best-selling EV brand, distributed locally by Sime Motors. In August 2025 it committed to a 600,000 sq m CKD plant at KLK TechPark, Tanjung Malim; the project has since stalled over MITI licence conditions.
